That depends. As I got smaller my weight actually increased as I was carrying more muscle. The BMI has it's flaws, but for the average joe it's a good indicator that perhaps you need to lose weight. |

And why is it acceptable to complain about the 'fat woman' plenty of fat men as well.... |
FYI this is Dave's, where it's acceptable to complain about everything under the sun. In the summer, it's even more than acceptable to complain about the sun itself. |

I thinking your complaining is crap. I am sick of your complaining, and it's about time I complained about it
Anyways, my comment about fat people in Korea (Canadians) most definitely included men. |

31 inch waist! Maybe you have worms. Do you find yourself dragging your ass across the grass with your front paws an overwhelming anal itch consuming you? |

Haha!
Yeeeaaah, I just do a lot of walking on my four legs. That's the trouble with you humans, you drive, you take buses, taxis, you do everything you can not to move your bodies. We dogs on the other hand, walk everywhere we go. (Except for a few wimp dogs that ride in their mommies laps wherever they go) That's why we're thin, slim and in tip top shape!
*why i gotta splain this to a captain, I don't unnerstand*
PS, wanna play some ball?? |

I think it is all relative. When i was in the USA i went to a clothing store and tried on my regular size of shirt, L. I found it to be more like an English XXL!! I ended up buying an S size shirt for the first time in my adult life! My friends had similar experiences.
I have to say, working in America (Ocean City, MA) was a real eye-opener in terms of the sheer number of obese people. But then if i looked around the area surrounding the place i worked all one could see was Burger King, Thrashers french frie house (sold by the bucket), burger bar, pretzel stand, sugar cake stand, soda machines.... There was literally nowhere to find a healthy snack or meal. Even the supermarket (Food Lion) was poorly stocked with fresh produce. |

As Dennis Leary once said...a guy becomes fat on the day he can no longer see his john when he stands up to pee in the morning.
I think you become fat when you pass that magic line of clothes size into the XXX-large.....
You also become fat when you pass your healthy weight ratio.
Or, heck, you become fat when you start multiplying folds..... |

I think this should be the standard applied to everyone. If you can't lick your own privates, you should go on a diet... or do more stretching. |

| I'm sorry but the majority of Americans are fat porkers. Even without knowing them, if you call them porky, you will be right more often than not. |
Hmmm..let's see....during the latest poll:
overweight and 30.5 percent are obese. Severe obesity prevalence is now 4.7 percent, up from 2.9 percent reported in the 1988 - 1994 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
http://www.obesity.org/subs/fastfacts/obesity_US.shtml
Collectively, that is effectively 38.1% of The U.S. population; hardly considered the majority. According to your statement of "fat porkers", I assume you are talking about the obese, not someone that is overweight by 1 or 2 pounds.
Conversely, "23.1% of Canadians aged 18 or older, an estimated 5.5 million adults, had a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, indicating that they were obese"
http://www.statcan.ca/english/research/82-620-MIE/2005001/articles/adults/aobesity.htm#1
Not too far off me thinks....
Though I don't argue with you in regards to "PEOPLE", in general, being overweight.... |
