Are they regions free? If I buy one in Korea and order movies from the US or Europe, will that be a problem?

If not, how much would it cost to ship a DVD player to Korea? $50 maybe?

Shipping a DVD player may be worth it as the DVD players here are astronomical in price.

I don't know where you're buying your DVD players, but I got a new one a couple of weeks ago for 50,000. 5.1 sound, region-free (out of the box - no hack), plays every media I've been able to throw at it; divx, mpg, vcd, svcd, mp3, dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, cd-rw

browse gmarket.co.kr and you'll find dozens in that price range with all those features. Buying and shipping overseas will definitely bring you over the cost of a new one here.

I'd go with this one too. Man, we need to get a thread of good PC/electronic sites. I'll make one, hold on.

Good link there... I just had a look. Can't tell if these players will do both NTSC and PAL though... Does the one you bought do both?

Yeah it can do ntsc or pal, just have to switch it in the menu. I couldn't find the same player again when, but the name is so easy.

Thanks for posting that link; I'm checking it out right now. I'm looking at a DVD player that is "code free". Is that Konglish for regions free?

I found one here that looks pretty good.

code-free = region free.

The player you linked to looks pretty good and the customer comments are good too.
