Have you ever tried geocaching? That is where someone hides a cache somewhere, posts the GPS coordinates, and people try to find it; high-tech treasure hunting of a sort. Here is the web page for geocaching in Korea: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?country_id=180&x=6&y=7

On the seafood thread, I posted the coordinates for a restaurant that makes a great 붕어찜 (N 37d 45m 6s E 126d 30m 24.3s; I *think* those are the correct coordinates).

What are the coordinates for some of your favorite places (food, entertainment, recreation, etc.)?

I've heard about Geocaching from family back home... didn't know it was happening here. I should probably buy one of those little GPS units just for the heck of it. I don't drive though... might look wierd with one as I cruise the subways.

On a side note, a buddy of mine was in the midst of being victimized by his Korean wife and she was able to GPS him via his cellphone. I would like to know how this is done, just so as to take measures to prevent it. Does anyone know how to do it? Do you have to set something up on the phone, subscribe to a service, allow yourself to be GPS'd or what. I can see the use if you are worried about someone who might be in trouble, but spouse-stalking is a whole separate issue.

As an even further tangential side note: if you dial *24 on your cellphone, let it connect and then hang up, you block all incoming calls. *240 connect and hang up re-opens your phone for calls. I use it during class time all the time, and will be making students do the same. I have yet to find a phone this service doesn't work on.
