Hey All,
I'd love to get a cell phone. I'm new to Korea and the price of phones here blew me away...outrageous! I am trying to find a reasonably priced phone in English. No bells and whistles needed. I don't know if it's like back home, where phones need to be "opened" for service. Since I view the phone as a necessary evil and use it as little as possible, I plan to go prepaid, if it makes a difference.
PM me if you have something you think might fit the bill.
Thanks in advance.

depends how long you'll be here and how much you'll have to make calls from (i.e., do you have a landline?)...
if you're not making outgoing calls very much the Korean Better Business Bureau has free phones for foreigners. It costs about 30 cents/min to call the States, 50 cents/min to call within Korea, and about 7 cents per text message. it's expensive if you make a lot of calls. If you use it only for emergency or texting and have a phone in your apartment, then it's quite convenient. I'm here just for the summer (June - August), and my bill has not been too much (under $70). If you want more info about the KBBB let me know (it's at Seodaemun Station...think directions are on the web). |
