|
|
Lately, the deranged sense of nothingness clouded my senses and I thought Hey, perhaps I'm in Korea. What am I going to do? But I quickly leapt to attention from my bed, looked out the window and saw nothing, just another day, reality solid as a Florida fruit tree, the sagging weight of sun holding me hostage to hope I can see like roots holding me.
Korea is black as shadows when you wake up every morning without a view, isn't it?
Hopeless? Feel that nothingness, like life is a void there? Lose your motivation, find no relief from Koreanization of character?
Remember this: Your roots are who you are and where you came from, and left unplanted for too long, the tree will wilt and die.
I'd rather see nothing than a blank wall.
Or at least taste the sweetness of a well-planted fruit tree bearing fruit. |

Go smoke a joint and read Nausea (preferably in French). You'll feel much... better. |

Could the OP'er be more specific about his sense of malaise while in Korea and why he thinks his problems here were shared by all foreigners in Korea? Naw, just baggage.....
Nice description of an orange tree, though. Go out and hug it and post the photo. |

Earth!
Fire!
Wind!
Water!
Heart!
GO PLANET!
With your powers combined I am Captain Planet!
Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side
Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
Gonna help him put us under,
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder
"You'll pay for this Captain Planet!"
We're the planeteers,
You can be one too!
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do,
Looting and polluting is not the way,
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:
"THE POWER IS YOURS!!" |

i always believed that a relationship to nature is what makes people happy and sane. ie..animals, a veggie garden, birds in your yard, whatever. i think humanity has lost a huge part of what they are by living in concrete without a view of the stars. |

You hit the nail on the head there Junior. Living in a concrete jungle detached from nature is bound to make anyone feel depressed. It was sure nice on my vacation to see clear blue skies and actually see stars at night. Let me get my bearings again so to speak.
Where is R. Teacher? I'm sure he'd have something to say about this. |
