Can anyone find/recommend a low fat yoghurt (or 'yogurt' to my Nth American friends)? Plain or fruity, am not picky... I can only seem to find the fully loaded versions.

| I was having the same problem with finding decent yoghurt. Yesterday I went out and bought an Easiyo yoghurt maker and im now making my own. You can buy the maker and culture stuff at Hannam Supermarket and I'm sure costco will sell it too. Even go to www.easiyo.co.kr. I used it when I was in living in NZ. Many different flavors both non fat and regular, hope this helps. |

The best yoghurt in Korea, IMHO, is the plain yogurt by DENMARK Yoghurt, which really is made by a Danish dairy company that has set up here in some kind of joint venture. I like it for its absolute plain-ness (some yoghurt in Korea says "plain" but they still add in something like a little sugar or a little vanilla; guess they think nobody could actually like it plain!).
As for fat content, reading the package here in front of me: It's got just 1.5 grams of fat in its 100 gram cup. The package actually does say "low fat" on it, but this is he first time I've noticed that!
Denmark Yoghurt is sold in just about every supermarket in Korea. You won't find it in convenient stores or mom-and-pops, though. The package is light blue with white text. Sometimes sold individually, or in packs of four. They make other flavors too, but the plain seems to be the most prevalant one you'll find on the shelves.

Great. Shows they are really making a success here in Korea. Two years ago, I had to shop around supermarkets to find it and occasionally it was out of stock. Now it can certainly be found in any supermarket. And, with your news that it's showing up in mom-and-pops, . . sounds like they've made it in this market, a market that sometimes chews them up and spits them out (foreign brands, that is).
I've noticed they sell milk, sour cream and whipping cream in supermarkets now. More testament to their success. |

| Denmark is the way to go. Their vanilla is a little bland and tasteless but the fruit flavors are nice. |

Second that.
2 years ago it was harder to find so I had to buy youghurt maker (like for making dwenjang with those small cups) and use milk + 1-2 hard to find cups of denmark.
And yes, apart from Denmark plain - other plains have sugar in them and some even a slight citrus (?) flavor - like Yoplait brand I think. |

| Lately, Emart has had the yogurt taped to the sides of Denmark milk cartons. I agree with what the others have said. It's my favorite, though I don't mind Biogurt. |

It's not easy to find yogurt without gelatin in the US.
For those of you who don't know kosher gelatin is gelatin made from skin instead of bones. It's still gelatin to me.
I'm assuming Denmark does not have Gelatin. What other brands are good? Do they have a high fat brand like Brown Cow? The fat forms a nice cream cheese layer on top.
