It's a moot point... I cannot send her any money for at least a couple days, if she is really only eating once a day then she'll probably starve by then. My US bank froze my assets because of my activity in Thailand.
Oddly enough they didn't bother to email me and ask what was up...
She's only emailed me twice and asks for money before she's even halfway done... wow...
I guess she will have to ask her family for it afterall. |

So you're fine with her "getting it" off someone else then? |

My gf has gone to study abroad in Europe, she got a scholarship for two weeks to travel and do reports, etc.
I am in Thailand, she is in Europe. I won't go into details about how much she and her travelmates mentioned "eurostyle" dudes before they left, but I am a little miffed... perhaps it's all the hot Thai girls down here but... really... come on... 3 days... don't they have internet in Europe.
|
Well Eurostyles dude do exist. Especially at unies. |

If you send her money now...you deserve what comes next.
Why even ask for advice, if you don't plan to use it in anyway? |

Hey, thx for your warm welcome!
Do you really think love is mutual? For me love is just giving and doesn't expect anything. Even though he or she leaves you, the time you spent together should be respected. You can't ask for paid back for your love in materials.
Hopefully Chaz has been contacted by his gf so far. If you are still in depressive mood, it means you torture yourself. Cheer up!
Go forward, and think good thing about your gf. Don't let other people or things you control your life. That's from my experience.

Hey I'm with you all the way Maangchi! Well stated and it is sad others don't think that way ........ and are all concerned about "their" world, which in the end brings them a lot of saddness......let's live generously, expansively and hoping for the best. If not, it is not living but just manipulating...
Have you read "The Double Flame" by Octavio Paz, great read about what you are saying.....he says love has several conditions (true, real love). One is just giving, not receiving. Another is that it must entail some resistance , some great problem to overcome.......You might also try The Art of Loving by Eric Fromme.
But thanks for the words..

Would you and maangchi (hopeless romantics inc.) agree that love is equal? That it requires an equal level of sacrifice and effort? |

Awesome ideal, and would be nice, but until we actually bring the population of the world down and keep it at a managable level, that will only go so far, and if done without thought, would actually cause more suffering.
For the not living only for yourself though, I totally agree |

Don't send her any money. If she is with her sisters let the family take care of that. Are you so desperate? She is playing you man. You sound like some naive teenage boy with his first girlfriend. No wonder she is using you when you like to be treated as a dog. Emailing her every day, etc. No wonder she lost interest in you 5 months ago. Treat them like shit and they stick like mud. Noone said this to you before? God...
And in Europe internet cafes are very hard to find for an inexperienced traveler. Usually available in hostels though, but 1-2 which is shared.
Dump her. |

NOPE!
That is called marriage which sometimes consists of love but more often than not, doesn't.

If only you practised what you preach, Europe2seoul...
As i recall when I first appeared as an angel of sexy light on these forums, claiming to be a shapely Korean sucking sensuously on a cigarette, you emailed me the most gentlemanly, nice, boring and harmless invitation to dinner. Hahahaha |

Not in Korea, land of economic partnerships, perhaps, no.

it takes 2 to tango dude. love is mutual. What you're talking about is one-sided fixation/ obsession. A pathetic waste of time. What you want is not a "better world" but to get into the pants of some hottie who has other ideas.. |

To get you on a date and check you out.
Doesn't mean I am going to call you 20 times per day and email you after breakfast lunch, dinner and just before going to sleep like OP is doing.
P.S Smokers have a bad breath, their clothes, hair and skin stinks.
You sucking on a cigarette would not be a nice picture. |
