I recently got a divorce (bliss), so my F2-1/S1 visa will soon
come to a screeching halt. There is absolutely NO WAY I will
ever work for a hagwon or uni again so I was in a dilemma.
About this same time my buddy got offered a job at a uni.
Get this: He has to work only 10 Saturdays a year and gets
80,000 won per hour + E2. (no joke) Of course that is all they
are offering. He has to find his own apartment, pay for his
own health insurance and airfare.
So I thought, ME TO PLEASE! I did lot of leg work and found
a similar offer. I only have to work Mondays and get 30,000
won per hour + E2. Same conditions apply as above. Although
mine is not as good as his, it is better than the national alternative.
Moral of the story: If you acquiesce to the crap of hagwon
owners and recruiters of Korea you will get burned. If you take
a pro-active approach there are a lot of niches and opportunities
out there just waiting. (and usually not being filled) |

| I'm thinking that once you get a divoce, you are still entitled to work... maybe even apply for an F5. Have you checked into it? |
