More Women Behind Wheels of Imported Cars
More than one in three owners of imported cars were found to be women, a recent survey said. According to the Korean Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), the ratio of women to total owners of imported cars reached about 35 percent this year, marking the highest level ever.

Women accounted for 22 percent of owners of all registered cars. This year, almost half of the motorists who registered imported cars were women, with the ratio coming up to 48 percent. Women exceeded men in the age bracket between 50 and 60.

Imported cars making inroads into local market
The average price of an imported car was 78.2 million won, or $82,600, in the first quarter -- only about four times more than the 18.7 million won charged on average for cars made here. In 2000, by contrast, imported cars were 5.7 times more expensive, on average.... The best-selling model during the first quarter was Audi's A4. The BMW 320i and Toyota's Lexus IS250 were ranked second and third, respectively.

Wives Found Far Richer than their Spouses
A survey indicated married Korean women manage an average of W14.4 million (about US$12,000) of "secret funds" without the knowledge of their spouses, who in turn had only W3.4 million (about US$3,000) kept aside -- or a mere quarter of how much their wives have tucked aside.

Well, if you can't get the real thing, you may as well settle for a car, right?

And I thought a car was supposed to be the extention of a man's sexuality?

Oh SHIITTTT, I saw this, really, I saw this same damnable article, and I was thinking "Is he going to thread this one???? Nahhh. There's no way to spin it, there's no spice".

But again I'm wrong. I even consulted my dogs, and they didn't think he'd do it.

Yeah when I get home I'm gonna start a campaign to break the windsheilds of any of our own 'traitors' who don't buy local, just like they've done here at times. Wonder how Kia would like them apples? Wink

But seriously, the average price of imported cars here is amazingly high, almost prohibitive. Is there a used American/British/French/Italian car dealer in Seoul which offers real world prices? It would have been nice to cruise around a bit in a '58 Chevy, an old 60s Fiat or something. The new Volkswagon Bugs are beautiful too but the taxes on them here seem to be through the roof.
