Ok this is driving me nuts but I had my co-worker ask me why I came to Korea. He is one of those guys that are after love/sex. Frankly when he assumes I came here for the "*beep*" I get seriously offended/choked/pissed off. I'm a male, I like sex just like the next guy, but I am not driven by it.
I had a pretty interesting childhood to say the least. I never had a father I was raised by women. These women were all born and bread in Eastern Europe. They are tough as nails not just physically but emotionally and mentally.
Now when this friend of mine asks me the question I just can't put it in words he fucking understands. I find Korean women completely repulsive. I can't fucking stand them. Its their personalities and attitudes I can't stand.
Today I had an incident at work I watched one of the teacher moan and groan because she couldn't god damn pull a string glued with some hot glue off a wall. I mean she couldn't pull this off I barely tugged on it and it came unglued. After that the first thing that I though to my self is holy *beep* are you ever a useless excuse for a woman. I pity the man you are going to wed next year.
Man I have my 50 year old mother more physically capable then most of these young women. Do they just pretend that they are just useless or what? Are men that egotistical and chauvinist that they fall for this saving the damsel in distress bullshit?
Am I the only one that just finds the opposite sex completely and utterly unattractive? |

I was raised by Europeans--mom and dad. But mom ran the house like a boot camp--benevolent, but with an iron fist, to be sure.
Kinda scary when you get told to "clean up your room--do it now" by a mom with an Arnold Schwarzenegger accent and attitude to match.
So I kinda know what you mean
Our rooms were spotless by the way. |

That type of women is what some bored Korean (male) netizens have great fun bashing, especially regarding happenings at workplace. Somehow it's related to the tide of so-called "dwenjangnyo" debate. Men vs. women. It seems to be hotter and uglier than ever. |

There's been a lot of comments on this in the past. A lot of guys think that Korean women are beautiful but also childish and immature. I have to admit that I thought that as well for a while. They probably are less independent than western women. I also think that it's too much of a generalization. Everyone's different. I've met some Korean girls that have demanding jobs, they've lived alone and also travelled on their own. |

its common knowledge that korean girls rely on their parents even until a late age. I have one friend who would like to learn taekwondo but has to ask permission from her mother who wont allow it: and she is 25. some i even know in london will routinely do this.
the importance of family may seems to compromise their independence in our eyes at least. parents will give their children money even until a late age for things as menial as hand phones, the latest clothes etc |

Ever tried actually talking to one? Man, you sound like a seven year old. Afraid of cooties? |

I'm not a huge fan of most korean women either.
There is the very occasional gem out there, but
you have to meet a lot of vain, uninteresting ones
before you find one |

I've talked to lot of women here they really didn't get my interest.
The ones I liked all left Korea.
Any way its not like I got time for women. I come home at 11 o'clock on 6 days of the week. Mainly I've given up on finding one that is remotly interesting.

I think of Korean women as soft on the outside, hard on the inside. Most Korean women I know that have wentthrough some serious hardship don't show it. The ones I've met have been bale to move on without moaning baout their hardship or continuously blaming things on it.
While in the west, girls often seem tough, but put one difficulty in their lives and it'll cripple them. Man, I can't imagine if there was ever a war on N American soil how people would cope. |

I've known plenty of resourceful, canny, lovely Korean women, but certainly met a few of the ilk you describe. I used to work with a girl who was a music teacher because her father told her to do it. She also had a degree in Chinese, but had a passion for neither. She just followed her father's direction.
I asked her what her real aspiration was. She said "To be a daughter." She honestly never dreamed of a life of her own. I asked her whether she liked to cook, and her reply was "I can cook... toast... and ... ramyun." |

Now, I don't mean to sound insensititve, but you mean your father died or didn't help raise you, right?
Is it only Korean women you find unattractive or all women, everywhere? If so you could be asexual or one of the other variants - which is nothing to worry about. That said, I'm not exactly smitten by the local ladies either. Although a lot of them are quite nice people a lot seem like they're missing a few crucial neurons, too. |
