Hello.

My name is Keith and I am a young-ish fellow with a silly-looking beard. In my native Omaha, I would be classified as a hipster elitist bastard, but in Daegu I am just a "miguk saram," as shrieked by terrified little children trembling under their mothers' skirts.

I've been in town all of two weeks and I'm growing bored with chilling in Chilgok. I have a few friends out here, but for the most part, my excitement is limited to worthless little acts of rebellion - namely, drinking moderately in western bars with varnished wood tables and vanity plates on the walls, or drinking coffee and reading science fiction in my bedroom while blasting The Beatles very loudly, which my Korean neighbors don't mind because they are perhaps the most pleasant people on earth.

Would anyone here - excluding YOU, Mr. 58 Year-Old Moustached Sado-Masochistic Pervert Seeking to Corrupt an Impressionable 23 Year-Old First-Time Expat! - be up for a couple of drinks at The Thunderbird or a suitably "it" bar of your choice? Or, in the event that you are the aforementioned 58 year-old moustached sado-masochistic pervert seeking to corrupt an impressionable 23 year-old first-time expat, that's cool, too. You can bring the whips. I just need to expand my circle of friends, because it currently includes a few Korean teachers, a pair of unwashed wooden chopsticks, and the tortoiseshell button that fell off of one of my dress shirts.

SO RONERY.

Ha ha.

-Keith

Ah, much obliged, Corporal! There's quite a bit of hype surrounding this Italy-Italy event. I'm excited about it, but in a super-jaded I've-gone-on-a-mescaline-binge-in-Ulaanbaatar EFL teacher sort of way.

Regards,
-Keith
