i am american
besides a passport and a visa for china what do i need to get into these countries? what kind of documentation if any?i wont have any problems getting back into the states will i?
also how many passport size photos do these people want?

I know for a fact one can go to Japan and South Korea without any extra documentation than a passport and a visa, though photos will be needed for visa processing.
No immunizations needed, but some kinds recommended. |

It will be recommended to have your standard imunizations up to date:
MMR, DPT, and a good idea to have Hep A, Hep B.
You will need a visa to enter China. The rest are visa waiver countries for you (30-90 days for tourism).
China needs 1 passport sized photo for the visa application. You will also need to have an application form filled in.
Make sure you have additional ID and a couple photocopies of your passport (in case your passport gets lost/stolen). It will make getting new travel documents much easier if you have copies of your passport and ID or better yet, scans that you e-mail to yourself and can print off if needed.
