I've been in an odd pattern.. bagel and kern's mango juice before work.
During dinner break, either kimchee bokkimbab or popeye's chicken.
After work, often times its kimbab or u-dong or microwave some of the spaghetti you can find in 7-11 and such.
At night, sitting around, I've been well-stocked with seaweed potato chips and crushed peach juice as of lately..
Weekends I try to get egg-burgers in Itaewon.. and every single chance I get I always go for sun-gyup-sal or tae-ji-galbi or any kind of Korean meat cooked at my table.
Its not the best.. but its the pattern I've been getting into as of lately.. how about the rest of you? |

Im back in Canada but have discovered a source of good kimchi and my mom made pickled radishes. Apart from that I have been eating mock-chicken on white toast with margarine. People think it's strange but it was one of those things for which I was pining in Korea. |

It's been a heavy udon week for me.
I had an intense bibimbap phase about a month ago; I just couldn't stop!
But most recently, I've found my appetite has dropped right off. I'm wasting away! (Ha ha. Right.) I think it's the heat.

I can't believe I haven't had any of those cold buckwheat noodles yet this summer...to hot to eat much, duk ramyen, and mandu guk is about all I can handle.My local hof gives us a clear salty seaweed soup which is almost as refreshing as the beer. Oh-and those mango iceblocks are cheap and yummy too. |

Love those battered and deep fried green chillies stuffed with some sort of clear noodle and vegetable mix, dipped in soy sauce. Available at my local dok boki stand. Can't walk past without have a couple.
Breakfast has been that cereal which resembles crunchy nut cornflakes with sunflower seeds and sliced almonds. It's the closest I have found to a normal breakfast. Miss wheatbix though.
Apart from lunch at school, which is a yummy home made Korean dish, everything else is just spontaneous grazing and foraging, roots, nuts and berries mostly. |

second the eggs.
what i want to know is why korean friend rice is so crappy. All you have to do is half fry an egg or two at the bottom of the pan before you put the rice in and it maximises deliciousness! why don't they do it? Do they even know about it? i could beat any korean in a rice frying contest i swear it. |

I invested in a 6x ice-block plastic whatsit for the freezer and it's at peak usage at the moment. Mango pulp makes them to drool for but totally unsuckable, and the podo juice freezes well too.
Tried the Aloe drink with the bits in it once but ended up pulling only half them out, digging the rest out with a chopstick.
Is'nt that podo juice in the cans with the real deal in there too weird- every gulp the can stoppers up, then as you pull the thing away from your cakehole you get a chinful of grape gusher.

I love the chunky juices in a can, pear, grape, orange.... I get one almost every time I see a vending machine that has them. Can't get enough!
I've been eating way too much 3 Minute Curry lately. It costs 1000 won for one of them, 500 won when they're on sale, it almost tastes like I'm eating something exotic that isn't Korean, and thanks to having a rice cooker it takes zero time to cook. It goes great with kimchi, too.
I've found a dalkkalbi place that makes curry dalkkalbi too. I can't get enough of it.
I've been going through the selection of 500 won icecreams in the freezer in front of my local shoopeo, too. You've gotta try the watermelon slices with little chocolate chips for seeds. |

Anyone know what those are called? I've eaten at my share of dokbokki stands but never seen those. They sound good!
There is a chain of fried chicken restaurants called Kyochon, actually its mostly chicken wings. Anyway, if you order the "Gold" style and a pint of beer, you will not regret it. Best. Chicken. Wings. In Korea. They have this special batter that is so damn good and an ice cold Cass goes so amazingly well with it.
For those that eat at Popeyes, try the Cajun Rice, its really really good and better for you if you want fast food but not the associated grease. |
