Pop up? ... so it will surely be broken off eventually, either accidentally or on purpose.
But wait...
It's not a government-issued coin. In fact, you'll see no mention of the word "coin" anywhere!
It's a trinket keepsake from some no-name marketing firm out to cash in on 9/11.
Looks like a coin but isn't. Appearances are deceiving. Like this thread's title. |

It sucks they're joined together. It will be harder to recreate 9/11 that way. |

I agree with VI on both of his points. Anyone who uses marketing to cash in on 9/11 is pretty low. |

"All profits made from the sale of this non-monetary coin will go towards furure terrorist efforts against the United States" - Bin Laden inc.
Actually, I am waiting for Sadam Hussein's trial to be released in the form of an eleven dvd set by Time Warner. When's it coming out dammit? |

As a nifty added feature, the metal pop-up also doubles as a box-cutter. |

Wow. Is that the same Big Guy who used to turn water into wine for chump-change? Jeez Louise, He's copping silver from rubble now! Damned if He ain't been making good after all. |

Hmmm, it could also make a nice in-flight weapon for terrorists. Could threaten to cut a flight attendant's neck.
Yep. I'm sure Bin Laden is behind this coin's production. Smart, very smart!
I also hear that the introduction of this coin coincides with the release of the 9/11 memorial postage stamp produced by Bin Laden to be used in Iran and North Korea. It features a beautiful reproduction of a painting Bin Laden painted in his cave of the two planes striking the towers. |

And remember, these are strictly commemorative coins and not legal tender. As such, you cannot be charged with a felony for defacing them, whether by blunt impact, controlled demolition, or temperatures hot enough to induce structural collapse. So you and your friends can play out your favorite WTC scenarios endlessly without fear of official sanction. However, you will never want to obliterate them entirely, for these truly unique coins are literally irreplaceable. Best of all, these magnificent medallions are composed of .99 fine silver bullion! So, unlike the U.S. fiat-dollar, their value is immune to the malfeasance of money-mongers everywhere, from the shenanigans of cynical central bankers to the peccadilloes of pork-barreling politicos. That's right, you will never have to worry about the real value of your coin imploding and collapsing in free-fall.
Buy yours now! Don't wait for them to disappear from sight, or to be confiscated by the U.S. Treasury or impounded by Homeland Security!
