Happeningthang: I think that my comments probably apply more to continental Europe than the U.K. Although, I would venture to say that the U.K. also has a huge block of Muslim immigrants.
In this discussion I think that we need to remember that the bulk of the victims of Islamic fascism are Muslims. In Iraq, for example, Muslims form the bulk of the deaths; a far greater number than American servicemen. |

say muslims make up 3.12% of the EU population. So maybe they're a major demographic block, but there's a BIG gap between first and second! I don't think the threat of this "potentially dangerous situation" is exactly imminent is it?

Well, the thing is the percentage of Muslims in Europe is more than double the percentage in N.A and is the largest minority group. Furthermore, they don't seem to be assimilating. Just the opposite in fact.
Also, the Muslim population is a young one and is is very fecund due to its youth and the patriarchical nature of its culture. Indiginous Europeans are not reproducing themselves. It seems to me that these last two points are worrisome.
I am one of those who believes that the west is at war with Islamic fascism whether we want to recognize it or not. The young Muslims in Europe have proven themselves to be a fertile ground for the fascistic beliefs of the fundementalist immams. The latest incident in the U.K. would point to this. As Ann Coulter so sarcastically put it recently, "Baby formula doesn't kill people, Islamic fascists kill people."
Young people generally have an almost insane drive to belong to a group. Young males crave adventure. Islamafascists are the biggest, most heavily financed gang around. Better by half than the Crips or the Bloods. No? |

so then how are there muslims that have immigrated to america? immigrants don't receive welfare in the USA.

Maybe they're not assimilating as quickly or evidently as some would like, but I would guess they're working on it. It doesn't matter diddley if there are double the percentage of NA it still equals 3.12% which, *sigh* even if you accept they are the largest minority, is a small, small amount.

That's probably the stupidest justification for a weak argument I've ever heard. The European muslim is characterised by their youth, patriarchal
nature and fecundity!!?? What, they're going to reproduce themselves into first place in the population stakes??

Sure, here you've got a valid point. Yes, there are some in the UK and, apparently Germany, who are vulnerable to being recruited by extremists. Still some of them are white christians who are converting, and not all muslims are part of this.

Umm... no? If you want to be a bad ass then, sure I guess being a terrorist is as good (bad?) as being a gang banger. Let's just say there's not too many middle class kids joining up... If you want to belong that badly then I'd guess you're missing out on a lot of what most people take for granted. |

Actually, the majority of would be Jihadis in the West are middle class and well educated. This has been shown time and time again, but it doesn't seem to stop people trotting out the usual nonsense about poverty and alienation being the prime causes of terrorism. Of course, this avoids any discussion of the elephant in the room, Islam. |

I only wish that were true. Immigrants do recieve welfare in the US. I saw that on a first hand basis when I worked at a grocery store and probably 2 out of 5 people who would give me food stamps couldn't even speak English. |

Nope, actually no spanish...muslims with 3-4 kids in tow with very little English abilities. I on numerous occasions tried to talk with them to be friendly. |
