Well, i was recently in Korea teaching for a summer camp for 4 weeks. I personally absolutely loved it and im actually dying to go back for more now and am considering teaching for another year (shorter term preferred though).

My dillema is that i recently graduated from a tech type of degree (Info Tech, programming to be more specific) and im seriously concerned about being outdated or having much more problems then i would have if i got a job now rather then getting a job later if i went abroad for a year.

I been talking to a lot of my classmates and i hear about their difficulties in finding a job, and i also spoke to a few other people that told me teaching isnt related to IT and it just very well hinder my job search if i came back in a year.

So, what i wanted to ask is if there were any other new graduates or people that have already completed their one year contract and came back to find a job in the IT or another technical field? And if so what difficulties did you face if any?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I been debating this for the past week and am absolutely divided between getting a job here or teaching abroad.

Bachelor of computer science in information technology here. Been doing this for four years (decided after year one I liked teaching, gave up on computers). I have recently started programming on the side again and find it difficult, but it is all coming back really quickly. To be honest, it doesn't take me long to look up something new on the web. It will take you a bit of time to get back into it, and your resume will look bad if you don't keep up with it somehow, but just one year will be fine. More than that and you might have trouble. Though to be honest, if I really wanted to get back into it, it wouldn't be that hard. It wouldn't be as easy as when I was offered jobs right after uni, but I wouldn't worry too much.

It also depends on what area, and to be honest, how good you are at it Wink
