If someone calls you from Korea and is ready to hire you right then and there and asks for an answer, just run, run, run!!! Then when they want you there in a few days without you even seeing the contract or talking to other teachers, you should know something is up, and it's a huge red flag!

I agree....mostly. But what about situations where someone does a runner, or someone doesnt return from vacation at the start of school, or when an employee is fired (for donig something illegal), or when an employee is injured, or, or....

Sometimes it's not the schools fault that someone does a runner because there are freaky wayguks out there. But on the other hand, people usually don't run from decent schools. If you know you'll get your full salary if you give notice, most people will.

Then the school would be happy for you to talk with teachers currently at the school. If it's a single-foreigner Hagwon, you don't want to be there in 90% of the cases anyway. Play your odds.

Don't even think of going to Korea without a signed contract. You don't want a bad shift, salary, etc...
