Im a newbie and I wanted to know if there were any worldwide recognized banks in Korea? I heard that there are Citibank and HSBC in seoul area. I know that there is Bank of America in China so I was wondering for korea. If there is it would ake it easier to just get an account in the States and use one bank account. THANKS! |

It's in the FAQs.

There are a few global banks here but they are run like autonomous banks and not branches of the global system.
They are almost NON-affiliated and there is little or no commonality between the Korean bank and it's global cousin (unless you are talking about international business accounts).
They often don't even allow the use of the international cards from the same bank if it was issued in another country. |
