"Hmmmmmm.....interesting responses........not one of you seem to care about the law.........or maybe you do care a little but want to protect the new teacher more. Shouldnt the law superceed everything else? Even if I am doing it to get revenge."
While new guy is obviously breaking the law and aware of it... the above statement is just silly.
You never break any laws? You've never gone over the speed limit? Smoked a j-bar? Bought beer underage? Jay-walked? And any number of other things?
I'm not necessarily saying these things are okay... but there are a lot of really stupid laws. And the law, in many cases, should NOT supercede anything else.
Sorry, it's the libertarian in me coming out. |

I do care about the law, but I ain't no cop, informant, or government agent.
I am not saying people don't break laws, but being a snitch is immoral and childish with a few exceptions namely psychos and perves. |

New guy knows he is working illegally. |
Laws are made to protect those who are connected.
If your boss isn't connected, he'll have to pay a bribe.
Do you really think that laws in any country are about justice?
Laws are to protect the status quo; sometimes, by chance - not intention, justice is done through laws.
Your new teacher is not connected, he doesn't stand a chance, at worse your teacher will, I repeat, be fined or have to pay a bribe. Previous posters have told you what will happen to the real victim.
Oh, yeah, your boss will probably find out who ratted. |

| Does the new teacher have a degree? If he doesn't, I'd call immigration. |

This sounds like it has little to do with the law and an illegal teacher and more to do with striking back at your boss for how they treated you.
My question is would you still be this eager to report him if your boss had treated you fairly? |

There's above board striking back and dirty handed striking back.
If you strike back dirty handedly the boss'll get just as dirty back and you'll get blacklisted.
If you walk away you can work again.
Or you can do the legal/above board thing and get advice here for that mutual siege. |

Illegals drive down the wages for legals. Simple economics.
Guess they didn't teach economics during those 'educations" many received from Devry Institute, Cosmo Beauty School, or Chef Boyardee Cooking School. |
If you talk about illegals driving down th wages, you cannot seperate WHY they drive down wages. Do folks who show up unawares that they have been hoodwinkd into illegal service drive down wages? No, that's retarded. It may be the case, however, that the employers using these folks drive down wages.
Illegals don't drive down wages. Employers do.
I have studied SOME economics. Where am I wrong? |

I disagree. If the new teachr is incompetant and doesn't know how to teach, then yes Otherwise, why?????
But that's just my opinion. I say follow your true conscience (which does not include revenge.) |

OP- if you can call immigration on an illegal teacher, and sleep at night, then do it. If not- just deal with your own problems.
I can do it and sleep like a baby. |

I know of a way you can clear your conscience.....
1. Think about how you want to screw your boss.
2. If you are on speaking terms with the illegal teacher, warn him ahead of time you plan to screw your boss.
3. Screw your boss.
No one unintentionally gets hurt and the OP gets his revenge.....
Case closed...
I think the point of your post is that you really want to screw your boss more than hurting another person. Sometimes what goes around might come around 3-fold, so be careful. |

| I don't think it's a case of actively "protecting" anyone. I'd just mind my own business unless I'd been seriously wronged and have a surefire escape plan that could be effected immediately. If you still intend to work at that hogwan I wouldn't try to unnecesarily hurt it financially, thereby jeopardizing your own pay... |
