I haven't got paid yet this month. Wanted to talk to my boss about it today but he can't speak english and the korean teacher wasn't at work today. One of the students said the director said she was sick. She also hasn't been paid yet this month so maybe she's just not coming to work anymore. hmm. I hope tomorrow will be a better day.

I think I'm about to get derrek'ed... bizarre Monday... the boss has panic attacks about once a month... I'm going to start logging her erratic behaviour against the lunar cycle... today I found that I don't care enough about my job because I don't complain Shocked what's up with that?

Edit: sorry chris... hope tomorrow IS a better day for you.

Chi-Chi- Have you asked in the admin. offices of individual subway stops ?(IE try to pinpoint a stop where it's likely you left it.) I did that once when I lost something on the subway and some of the offices radioed ahead to the other offices to ask about the item. I guess you could call your embassy in case a Good Samaritan turns it in there.
Good luck.

Oh and there I was rambling on another thread about my lost Yowies...
Hope you get your diploma back... where would someone hand it into? Is there a Seoul Subway Lost and Found where a diploma would stand out against all of my umbrellas? If you do get in touch with them... ask them if they found some Yowies...

BTW - I'd change that to "I just did a Derrek" rather than "I just got Derricked" Wink

Chi-Chi- Can you get a Korean friend to go back to a couple likely stations with you and ask about your diploma? It's something important, so you may want to try. If it ever turned up or the admin. people heard anything, you would have made yourself known to them.
Good luck. If you're sure it's gone you may have to accept it (ouch) and make arrangements to get a new copy from your university.

Chris,

With as little English as your boss speaks, she will understand "no pay, no work" I imagine your money would be coming shortly thereafter. If not, just go home to prove that your are serious.

That worked with my old boss, and he was the king of Korean snake hogwan bosses.

Little chocolate monsters with toys with choking parts?Sounds like the ULTIMATE HAKWON TOY! Rolling Eyes Those clever Aussies! Only..kidding..well, mostly, anyway. Smile

Chi-chi...hope you find your diploma (or have a copy of it at least..that is always very important). If you don't, it is always possible to contact your uni, have them expedite a new one or a notarized copy at least.Of course, that costs some bucks. You could also have them DHL it to you,if you really need it urgently.More bucks, yes.Good luck. Hopefully, you will find your original one.

As for that Korean boss being "sicK"(no pay,the boss is "sick".Well,uh maybe, but that is also an OLD hakwon ploy used when the boss does not have the money to pay his employees...so he or she goes into the hospital.I had one at one time(I refuse to work at hakwons anymore) who "hurt his leg" and had to go into the hospital for two weeks.Yeah.No pay for the hakwon teachers. So finally we went to the hospital and he was not hurting at all.Seemed in rahter good spirits.Although apparently showing up at the hospital to get your cash is some kind of no-no.That is probably why they do it.To avoid their employees.

mody ba my boss wasn't sick he said the korean teacher was sick. she's not here today and we have a new korean teacher. So she (the old korean teacher) quit. I doubt he mentioned that he didn't pay the previous korean teacher. First chance i get to talk to her i will let her in on it. Anyways I'm pretty p*ssed right now. I think this day will get worse before it gets better.
