Today I moved, and this was the easiest, painless move in my entire life and I have moved more times than I can count.
2 weeks ahead of time we called the movers and they made an estimate, said they would arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning. They arrived at 8:15, 3 men & 1 woman.
The 3 guys started packing up everything and hauling it down three flights of stairs, while the woman started packing up the dishes. She didn't just pack them she washed each one individually and wrapped everything really nice. After she was done with that she cleaned inside and out, the refrigerator and wrapped it up in a blanket. They guys were very careful with all the breakable stuff and wrapped all the furniture in blankets.
2.5 hours after they arrived everything was loaded into the trucks. One covered truck - Uhaul size - and the other an open flatbed. The movers took some time for lunch while they waited for the elevator truck to arrive. Our new house is on the 14th floor.
Moving everything into the new house was much easier and quicker than moving out. Everything was brought up, reassebled, and placed exactly where we asked. All the dishes were unpacked and rewashed so that the packing dust was removed. Finally they cleaned the floors, hung our pictures, and took the garbage out.
How much was all this? only 480,000 won! I can not imagine it being less than 4x this cost in Canada. I have nothing but good things to say about the movers.

Same experience as me, about 4 months ago. Very painless - even more so because my school paid for it.... |

"Movers"? I guess this is a Canadian term. Back home this refers to a good dancer! We call them "the removals men!" in the UK. How nice! Good to hear you had a stress free move though. |

I had movers move my stuff about three to four times, and after my first experience, I figured it's worth the dough to have someone else to do it. Like any other hot industry in Korea, movers have to be good because of cutthroat competition. |

Does this mean you're going to stop mooching off my air conditioner? |

Yes, my apartment is so much nicer... today we don't even need a fan. |

Okay, I'll give it a try. Wonder how much it would be to just have one guy helping me move though.. all I really need is the truck. I have nothing to be packed. Just moving large furniture. |
