How many extra hours of teaching a week would this work out to?

pretty good money for two evenings a week (I assume its 1 hour x 2 days). I would only do it if you can get an addendum to your E-2. Word is bound to travel fast in the public school system. I would think you would be able to if the high school is willing to sponsor you.

I work in the public system and do extra classes at a local high school once in a while. I'm not sure what all is involved, but I needed the vice and principal's permission plus the necessary paperwork. If your school will let you, make it official rather than run the risk of getting caught.

You have to sign a new contract with the new employer. They take your ARC and the contract to imigration. Immi puts a little mark on the back of your ARC. Voila, legal teacher. I think you also need a permission letter from your current employer.

Not worth the bother for 40 an hour. Do you realize how many kids they are going to pack into your classes?

For me, teaching in classrooms are better than privates. $40 buck an hour sounds okay.

People have different preferences.

Offered privates or offered a part-time position at the high school? They are different things.

If they are privates then you face a great risk.

It is an offer of a part-time position, then you simply need to make an application at your local immigration office to "change or add the place of work."

Ask the highschool if they want you to get permission. If you get found out by your elementry school bosses what they gonna do. They aint going to fire you, and they aint going to turn you into immigration otherwise they'll be cutting their own throats.

Just do it and what the hell. Not a great moral issue since your elementry school would be just as capable of asking a part timer to help with their classes without proper documentation.

Well it's looking all good. My supervisor is sorting everything out for me (props to mrs choi!) for it to be legitimate so i'll find out this week if it's a go or not.

Yeeha!, So long as a front up with the goods it will be ongoing as well.

Not a valid poll. You haven't specified if you'll get permission or not, so the results of the poll are unclear. You said it's a small town. If immigration does in any way find out that you did the classes illegally, you could be deported.

I say somehow get the principals or higher-ups of both schools to talk. Chances are your school's principal will allow it if it's a favor for another.

You posted an answer right before I did. What you're doing now sounds good...
