My favorite bar in Korea was the Watermellon Sugar. If you were looking for trouble, you could find it there. It's in Daejon. In fact, the owner went to my wedding. After the wedding, we went back to his bar.

While playing You Got That Right by Leonard Skynard, a bunch of Korean guys grabbed me and suspended me upside down. They then proceeded to beat me on the bottom of my feet with a rather large dried fish. It was as hard as wood. They beat me for the entire length of the song. It was a good thing they didn't play Freebird. Heck, I was loaded on Tequila. Maybe they did play Freebird.

The next day, I couldn't walk. No kidding.

I think it is some kind of Korean wedding custom. Either that, or they just enjoy beating white guys with a fish.
