I come here because I miss Korea. I really liked the country. Heck, I miss it everyday. I don't miss the teaching, mind you. I hated that. I just miss the country, itself.
But I see posts I never understand. For instance, I read posters claiming they were victims of racial attacks. I've been in altercations myself over there. But usually it was my fault brought on by alcohol.
I read posts saying that Koreans are genetically predisposed to pedophelia. That leaves me scratching my head.
I read posts saying that Koreans are unfriendly. I can't tell you how many times I was in people's homes having a meal and a drink. They weren't unfriendly to me.
This is what I wonder after reading Dave's sometimes:
What freaking country was I in?
I mean, was I drunk and accidentally got off the plane in Taiwan? Is that where I spent three years of my life?

It's funny that one of the few posts of yours that makes sense has that title. |

I agree with you Otis. I read Dave's a lot and expected to run into many problems and negativity here. I love this country. The people are nice, hospitable and fun. I get into more arguments at bars in the United States than I do in Korea. I even have short hair and look like I'm in the military. |

I have been away from Korea for about 7 months now and I miss it like a homesick puppy.....
I have been to Kuwait and have jobs offers that span the globe from Europe to South America, but I am here for at least another 24 months (family issues now), but if there was a chance to go back to Korea, I would take it in a heartbeat.
Regardless of what people say about me or regardless of how many of my posts sound, I miss Korea with a passion.
I am past the girl, booze and nightclub phase, honestly to me, Korea was a peaceful tranquil place to live compare to the hell that truly is the US
To be honest, my posts are mostly vents at how crazy things and sometimes people are there, but I would give my right arm to help them.
Seriously.... |

I agree! Everything has been A okay here. My school and the boss is great, but only problem I had with was my colleague who was an a$$hole and decided to do the midnight run. |

For the first and only time in his entire life, Otis is 100% correct. |

Otis, your mission is to proceed up the Han river in a Navy patrol boat. Pick up colonel Daves' path at Nu Mung Ba, follow it, learn what you can along the way. When you find Dave infiltrate his team by whatever means available and terminate the his command. Terminate with extreme prejudice, you understand Otis... that this operation does not exist, nor will it ever exist. |

I just read a couple of threads about guys being attacked.
And I would just like to say I've been attacked in Korea by Koreans, and I usually found it somewhat pleasurable. Something I could tell the grand kids.
One time, I was roughed up for rubbing a man on the head. I was drunk. Four men grabbed me and dragged me down a flight of stairs. They then pushed me against a car.
I tried to fight back, but I was too drunk. They simply kept kicking my feet out from under me. And I'd plop to the pavement.
After five times, I whipped it out and proceeded to urinate while lying on my side. They immediately left.
I've also been roughed up in pojon-machas. I liked that, too.
If you have any plans to get beaten-up this year, Koreans are your best bet. They almost make it enjoyable. |

No doubt. I have short hair like that too.
One night I went out to Hongdae alone to go catch a world renowned DJ who never showed up. I met a couple of fellow (haha...fellow) Americans, a guy and a few girls namely, who were dancing in a club. After talking to one guy for awhile, one of the girls asked him, "Why do you care about some Army guy?" The audacity of it all, especially since SHE was wearing a camouflage tank top! Well, I didn't enjoy being harassed by a chubby white b**** so I went home and text messaged some females I knew, then went to bed alone. The next day I met a really hot girl, who paid for my everything, then pleasured me in a DVD Bang (for those of you who thought this story seems lame and gay) |
