I would suggest Deajon.

Deajon is the center of S. Korea and is the rail center for the whole country.

In addition I would talk to Paul the owner of Bad Apple and reserve the whole bar.

That's my thought

Do you guys actually take trains? I think they're horribly slow and so I take the bus where ever I go. 'Haiiiil to the bus driver, bus driver, bus driver. Haiiiil to the bus driver, bus driver man.....'

Daejeon feels to close too Seoul.. its almost like we might as well be in Seoul..

I'd vote for KwangJu.. thats one place most of us wouldn't get to otherwise.. I'd like to check that city out.. and 8 votes for it well..

Actually I voted for the first choice (anywhere but Seoul) before the other choices became available. Busan was my choice. Something tells me others did the same.

Not that I don't like Kwangju, but I know the locals would smell Kyungsannamdo on me and tar and feather me and the Lotte Gum I rode in with.... Wink

But a lot more comfortable, and the other poster was right, in holiday time buses will be a lot slower.

we could have it at Soul Train downtown near the new TGI Fridays. Heck we might even come, we never go downtown.

Who knows maybe we could even get Soul Train brother #1 Don Cornelius to show up.

Ive never had a problem with bus slowness. But I agree, trains are alot more comfortable. Busses are more interesting though I think. Ive seen fist fights on busses. On one bus, we stopped and picked up an entire family on the side of the road, they all sat on the floor. Then the driver got mad and left them in the middle of nowhere....don't quite know what happened there...

I'll take a train over a bus whenever I can. I can't get comfortable on anything but an excellent express bus, no leg room for me. No toilets and bus drivers who insist on 2.5/hours before stopping then only stopping for like 10 minutes. then the traffic and driving drives me nuts

I'll take a Samaeul any day and don't mind paying for it. Heck for short trips I'll even take a Munghunwa at least I can stretch out and get up if I have to

I like Busan. I know how to get to Busan and get around in the city.
I like Cheonan. It's my Korean hometown, Cheonan born and bred.
Daejeon wouldn't be too bad, I suppose. I've been there for a drinking binge once, and it was interesting, to say the least.
