On the topic of fruit, I'm pretty sure I saw what was a "custard-apple" in Lotte department store yesterday. However, said fruit was priced at 65,000won for one Shocked

I was about to post a picture of a lynching but then I thought, nah, lynching's not funny.

But, gotta post something, so here goes:

Custard apples are not strange. Rather, they are totally awesome. A wee bit over-priced in Korea though.

That sounds like an expensive shop with an expensive fruit.

Reminds me of last year when I was given a Jeju-Special-Orangee or something at work. I felt obliged to eat it (they fed me or drank me stuff every day; I was often obliged) so I did.

They asked how it was.

I said "That was quite nice."

The look on their face was a cross between disbelief, shock, insult, outrage and bemusement (quite the cocktail as I'm sure you can imagine). I didn't realise those special oranges cost 10,000 a piece and my lack of look of rapture [get a Korean to say that..] was quite the disappointment.

If they'd only told me the price first I would have enjoyed it a lot more. Or more likely refused it because there's no way I'd knowingly reciprocate to the entire office at 10k a pop.

If I ever become a catholic the guilt from my lack of orange ecstasy will be my most important confession. Please keep the expensivee custard apples away from me.

BTW are they the chinese pear thingeys? or are custard apples something else.. I like custard..

Jinju

No seriously, jinju.

Okay. Time to get serious. Jinju.

Just messin with you guys. Jinju.

I find the dragon fruit to be a little strange. Had it the first time a few months ago. Can't remember what it tasted like.

The durian has to take the cake though. It stinks too, but the wife likes it. She says it's a lot more expensive in Korea. Here in Canada it's about 5 bucks a shot. Still not worth it.

Durian is outrageously expensive in Korea. I used to like to get a little piece once in a while, but I would never have bought a whole one.
