I've got a quick question about the pension.

First, I am a Canadian (I say this because of the reciprocal pension agreement with the Canuck gov).

I worked at a university in eastern Seoul for a year. Finished the contract and all that. I'm now out of Korea.

The school did not pay into the pension fund. They say that they did this because my time was divided between the language institute (about 40%) and the university (55%) and high school and (legal) one-on-one classes (5%). Because my time was divided, apparently we don't work enough hours sum-total under one roof to qualify for the pension.

Well, I pissed and moaned and got them to try to set up a pension, which amounted to them doing no more than telling me how many hours I worked for the institute, and this only after I sent more than a dozen emails to the school.

Now, I really want this pension money and I am now a student and it would be very, very useful. My average total month pay was about 3.5mil totally legal and 100% from the UNI. I think that because my visa was to ****** University that any work I did for them is considered as work for them, not divided amongst the different departments.

Any suggestions on how I should go about doing this?

Thanks so much.

I called them a few days before I left (I found out 4 days before I left that they had not been paying) and they said they would call me back... Never did.

Do I call the office in the GU my school was or where I lived?
