I live in a three bedroom apartment which I own approximately 50% of. I've lived here since the spring. It's one of those apartments that is 'L' shaped and each floor has a walkway that leads to about 10 apartments each way.
My problem is that every morning a dude walks the entire apartment, floor by floor, chanting (like a Buddhist Monk) 'dry cleaning' again and again in Korean because he wants people to run out of their apartments and hand over any dry cleaning they need done I guess.
When I first moved here he would do it daily at 10:00 am and because of the lazy slob night owl that I am, I would still be sleeping. So as he passed in front of my window screaming, it generally scared the heebiejeebies out of me. My girlfriend complained to him, but in typical Korean fashion he shrugged it off and said it was necessary for his 'business'. Anyways, I accepted it.
Now though, it happens at 8:00 am and is much louder than before (I think it's a different guy doing it). Again my gf has complained to the dude as well as the building security to no avail.
So am I to believe that I have no rights in this situation. I mean this is my apartment which I own, so who is this guy to do his 'business' in such a manner in my space. The noisy neighbors and children screaming at the top of their lungs every morning are bad enough, but what gives this guy the right to disturb me every single morning? EVERY MORNING!
Do I pelt the dufus with eggs each time he passes by until he gets the message?
Any thoughts?

And by the way... Koreans are kind.

doesn't matter who complains, the guy is going to keep on doing it. It's more important for him to make money than let you and your gf sleep well. Sorry, maybe try MilwaukieDave's idea if you feel really hostile.

Anything you say may and will be used against you in a court of law.

I'd just go out there and yell at his ass every time he comes by. Just get right in his little face and talk sh*t to him the entire time he's walking down the hallway. Harass and degrade him every single time you see him. He'll probably be afraid of you, and even if he's not, eventually he won't want to deal with the hassle. It's not nice, but it'll work.

Either that, or when he comes by asking for laundry, hand him a pair of pants with a big piece of human doodoo in them.

Umm, your post wasn't really clear.

You said, "...a dude walks the entire apartment floor by floor..."

But then, "I mean this is my apartment which I own, so who is this guy to do his 'business' in such a manner in my space."

If he was unlocking your door, and walking through your apartment, kick his sorry butt out the window, the higher the better. But it sounds like he's in a common space, and unless as an owner (50% at that), you have some jurisdiction over what happens in a hallway shared by 19 other apartments, (each floor has a walkway that leads to about 10 apartments each way.) then I think your're out of luck.

Find out who your landlord is, and get a korean to call them. If possible, make sure the fact that you are not Korean doesn't come out. Smile

Maybe the landlord doesn't know he does this at all. Maybe they will ask him to come at 10... or better yet, get rid of him.

I think you should stalk him to find out where he lives. After you find his house, at about 3 am, walk through the hallway and past his windows yelling, "English lessons! 50,000 won per hour!" When he complains, tell him it's for your business. Or you could just record your voice and play it over and over from a Bongo truck sitting outside his apt.

don't you have a guard? complain to him.

don't you have to go to the monthly tenants meetings? complain there.

I don't think either will make much difference. I vote go the cold water option

Walk out of your apartment naked, and just follow him around as closely as possible. Guaranteed to drive away any customers he might have.
