Korea!!..please!!..just put price labels on all items. Save a lot of hassle and time.
Not everyone has the time or energy to research the correct or comparable price for everything before going out shopping. Not everyone wants a big bargaining performance before they buy something.
I get the feeling that anything can and should be bargained in korea. I might even have an argument over the next pair of shoes I want.maybe I can get a discount on my next loaf of bread?
Except for supermarkets, there are no price labels attached to any goods or products. To me this is a pain because you cannot trust the price quoted you at any time. it leads to a sort of paranoia where you have to contest every sale, because you assume the person behind the counter is trying to rip you off.

| I always thought Korea was pretty good for having prices quoted when you are out shopping. But, like you, when someone just says a price, I usually feel like they are trying to screw me a little. |

Yeah, it immediately feels like that. "thats too expensive" are the practised first words out of my mouth.To which they usually sneer and come out with a jumble of unintelligible Korean. I'm tired of having to bargain everything. I'm not totally money minded and i don't care if its 50 bucks or 40. I just want to pick up the item and get on with other things. Quickly. I don't travel 2 hours into seoul to spend my weekends fending of sales attendants, being courted with coffee or trying to bargain in a language I don't speak. Or getting ripped off just because i don't have time to devote to the whole process. I don't have time to research everything and find out what its correct price should be either.
I want...price tags! |
