Did you see that quote--the scooters in Asia alone put out the equivilent pollution of 2 to 5 BILLION Honda Accords. Food for thought anyway.

2-stroke scooters, you said - i.e., not the ones used to deliver food in Korea (that 'downshifting' comment wasn't a joke?)

Jejujitsu, I think you've had enough, bro. Leave this country. Seriously. Walk away from the computer, get on the bus, and take the first plane out of here. Ah, ah, ah! No excuses! Just go.

Typical apologist garbage. Maybe if you thought about the issue at hand, you'd realize that he is more than likely right. I remember they did a study on whether disposable diapers (which could biodegrade) were better for the environment than cloth reusable ones. The disposable ones turned out to be be better for the environment. Changed my way of thinking.
I don't see it as a bashing Korea issue. I see it as a common sense issue.

I KNOW you've had enough, Guriguy. Korea's gotten you so bitter and beaten you up so bad you're like a sad old prizefighter with your manager yelling "stay down! stay down!" Your location is listed as "in Korea for the moment" and I hope that moment doesn't turn out to be 3 more years.

And come on, if it was a common sense issue, would we have 3 pages of debate with people on both sides making good points? What part of common sense includes being able to calculate the environmental damage of disposable plates versus motorcycle (2 stroke? 4 stroke?) pollution?

Personally, I think it's possible that these motorcycles operate in such a small geographic area with such a dense population that the amount of extra motorcycle usage could be small. Maybe every time the guy makes deliveries, he picks up plates on the way because he's hitting the same areas over and over again. So it's not like a whole extra trip, but rather he's just popping over to a place that is on the way anyways. But then again maybe not. I guess I lack the common sense to know.
