|
|
I will be going to Gangnam around November 1 to look for a job. I have couple interviews lined up but no where to stay besides motel rooms. That can get expensive very fast. I heard there are short term housing in apt/officetels for about $800/month. Do you know of such places and how to get in contact with them? Thanks. |

You should try looking for a goshiwon. You could probably get a room for 500 dollars. Other places demand large deposits (especially in Gangnam). Alternatively, if you don't mind exceeding your budget there are some really nice hotels in the area which charge 60 -80 dollars a night. You could probably negotiate a cheaper price if you intend to stay for a month. Check out the Lexis hotel, or the star motel near Yeoksam station.
This is a site about goshiwons in the Gangnam area. (It's in Korean though)

Stay in a hasookjip (boarding house) for a month around a university (I think Seoul National and Chongsin are pretty close to Gangnam). Pay NO MORE than 400,000 won a month for a room. Many are furnished and you can leave whenever you want.
Officetels are pricey, especially after the gwalibee (maintenance fee). Just get a one-room that is not an officetel by asking a real estate agent. You'll pay a fee but you'll save over an officetel. |
