Is Bill Frist not the dumbest Republican senator? The dude defines "douche bag."
| Quote: |
QALAT, Afghanistan - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said Monday that the Afghan war against Taliban guerrillas can never be won militarily and urged support for efforts to bring "people who call themselves Taliban" and their allies into the government.
The Tennessee Republican said he learned from briefings that Taliban fighters were too numerous and had too much popular support to be defeated on the battlefield.
"You need to bring them into a more transparent type of government," Frist said during a brief visit to a U.S. and Romanian military base in the southern Taliban stronghold of Qalat. "And if that's accomplished, we'll be successful." |

Hmm, maybe if we hadn't diverted resources to Iraq and done things half-ass in Aghanistan, things would be going a lot better.
Thank god this man is not running for re-election. He is dispicable (his family made its money providing awful health care) and this is just the icing on the cake.
While I'm all in favor of democracy and don't mind fundamentalists running for election, I have to say suggesting a guerrilla force with no obvious leadership should be able to participate in gov't is ludicrous. |

BB I agree with you. I hate to break it to you though, he may not be running for reelection, but he's actually thinking of running for president.
Just when you though it couldn't get any worse! |

I thought this was a joke. That's absolutely shocking. |
