Hee-seop Choi, the baseballer, is getting marrried to Yasuda Aya. According to the news, this lady is the daughter of the head of one of Japan's top 10 financial/banking corporations(it's known as Fuyo Group but I'm not sure). She's been studying in LA for an MBA, while working as a reporter. She and Big Choi met when Choi was at the Dodgers and she was the exclusive interviewer for that team. This is the only picture I could find.

well she comes from a VERY RICH family so im sure the korean side wont be to unpleased.. just that she is japanese might bite...
wonder how her father is taking it.. then again.. he is probably a baseball fan. so he is wrapped!!!

에휴... 박찬호 부인도 교포니 뭐니 하지만 실은 100% 일본 여자고 최희섭까지...정말 미치겠다.
최희섭의 재력도 남부럽지 않으니 돈을 보고 사귀다는데에는 개인적으로 동의할 수 없고...
사람이 좋아서겠지... 상당한 미인에다가...
그래도 왜 하필 원숭이 계집을....미치겠네

여자가 외국남자랑 결혼하면 창.녀 같은 찌질이짓하는 거라고 얘기하는 건가요?
왜 여자남자를 갈라서 생각하는 거죠?
어차피 돈만 보고 결혼하는 사람들도 여자랑 남자 다 있고,
정말 사랑해서 결혼하는 사람들들도 여자 남자 다 있는데.
왜 이걸로 싸우는지 이해가 안 가네요.

well this is not a perfect world.. so people feel bitter...
I dont know why its ok when korean men marry foreign girls it's ok but vice versa its not..
then again, they are rich and famous so it's always ok at the end of the day.

Because this is korea.. and in korea pure blood etc.. blar blar blar is a factor here.. even tho koreans dont want to accept they are not pure blood, they are mixed from mogols or and china etc..
but It might be a more of an issue becuase its JAPAN..
so many ajossis probably feel betrayed that this guy is marrying a japanese when he could be marrying a korean..

Those are comments from Koreans at online sites reporting the Choi engagement.
The first says, "Why the f*ck did he have to marry a monkey b*tch?"
The second points out the hypocrisy among many Koreans that when a Korean man marries a non-Korean woman, it's considered a national honor, but when a Korean woman marries a non-Korean man, Korean men call her a wh*re. |

Choi aparently went and got approval from the parents when Korea went to play japan in Tokyo during the World Baseball Classic in january...
The father was a bit concerned at first but has given his blessing apparently |

| I was thinking about starting a thread on the anti-foreigner comments on some Korean portal sites but after reading through sheafs of them I figured what's the point in reporting what netizens say anyways. I've never understand Korean newspapers who take comments from netizens like as if a dude whose sole qualification is having internet access must have important opinions. |
