Oops.
I thought it said, "The Deported."
Started thinking of all the Canadian friends I met in Korea.

*heh*

Dippy in "Gangs of New York" was the worst mis-casting I can recall. DD Lewis was perfect, even though that movie was an atrocity. How could Scorcese screw it up sooo badly.

Damon is ok if he is playing a serious character (Bourne Identity), or a smart-ass (Good Will Hunting). He can't play it convincingly in between. Brother's Grimm was an abomination.

Dippy was very good in the Aviator, though, he played it perfectly. He needs to stay away from tough guy roles though. No one's buying him as a tough guy. Who would back down from a fight with this guy?

He'd been trying to get it made for 20-odd years, guess he just had to fit in every idea he'd have in the last to decades even if it didn't make for a coherent movie.

Is it Scorcese that's never won the Oscar? Actually, I think it was. Wasn't it another heartbreaker when he lost to Clint Eastwood (Aviator vs. Million Dollar Baby) for best director. Maybe he'll finally win with this movie.
