I knew Anna Paquin's brother at high school. It was pretty awesome.

Catholic, perhaps? She could be the first pregnant 16 year old to win an oscar. That would be an interesting acheivement.

Do you know the reason they didn't film that movie in New Zealand? They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin. Bah Boom.

Anyhow, she is hardly your typical teen mother and so long as she and her partner can support the child without government handouts, I can see little wrong with it. I'm sure plenty of folks on this board had bumped uglies with someone else by the age of 16.

That would make you from Saskatchewan, or is it Manitoba?

Bwa Ha. Classic. Careful with that joke, its an antique. Would want to damage something with so much history.

She's got a good big Maori family, there will be more than enough parenting for the kid. She'll probably be able to start acting again within a year or two. That is if she chooses, she may well just want to do the mother thing, but I suspect it would be a choice rather than an imperiative.

I had Anna Paquine's elder sister for a politics tutor at Uni. She was quite cute. Not at her sisters level though.

I'd guess it makes him Kiwi.

I thought she went to live with mom, but her brother stayed with their dad.

No idea about what was going on in their family, but in 1994 Andrew Paquin was attending a New Zealand high school. Then he went to Harvard!

I was under that impression because I read something a long time ago about her staying in New Zealand with her mom, but no mention of her brother was made in that article.

Knocked up is a very crude term for getting pregnant with someone you have been in a comitted relationship with for three years. Being a parent at 16 can be a problem, but usually, sad to say, for lower class and highly uneducated people. This girl has had a very sophisticated upbringing, and is surrounded by a large group of quality people that really care. Look, it simply isn't going to be a problem.

Comitted is comitted, three years is three years. Obviously they are not fully formed adults, but it's clear they love each other, and that is a fine foundation to start with. If they love each other, and all the adults around them are loving and concerned and involved, and there is enough money, which there will be, it will be fine.

Yep, those are the facts, of which we are all well aware. What is your point?
