| If you're an English teacher in Korea you can get the education discount. I bought a Minimac and the full version of Logic Pro a few months ago and saved an absolute packet. |
It's not an issue that I'm a hagwon teacher and not a public school teacher? What do I need to prove that I'm a teacher - will an E2 visa work? |
Not at all. I ordered mine through the number on the Korean Mac website and struck up a bit of a conversation with the sales guy. He asked what I was doing in Korea...I told him I was teaching English...He told me I could get an education discount and adjusted the total...I said great. I teach in a Hagwon and no proof was needed at all. Three days later the system arrived and I had more cash left in my pocket.
I am aware that back home you do need proof that you are a student or teacher to get the discount but it doesn't seem to be the case here. Take advantage of it. I assume this would also work for any of the items sold through Mac, iPods, accessories, software, cameras even. |
