Looks like a clear choice between

a)Having talks and continuing to prop up NK
b)refusing talks, applying sanctions..and being ready for war

I had this dream a few months ago,

Last month, I had a dream that I was in a prayer house, praying with many others. I had a deep sense of dread that we were going to be attacked. So I ran outside to see what was happening and to my horror, I saw battleships on the coast preparing to invade our country(I dont know which country I was in). I ran to the outskirts of the city and found that many people were actually spies and working with the enemy. They were preparing to attack the people when the battleships invaded. I ran home and everyone was lost in prayer. When I entered the house, the house came under attack by enemy fire. I quickly ran outside where people were being killed by the spies. This is when I woke up.

Wars, What are they good for?

Threatening to fire a missile signals the final steps in the breakdown of talking.

Think of it as your S.O. threatening to sleep with someone else, unless you comply with their demands. The threat alone can be taken as seriously as if it had already been carried out...

Or, one could consider it to be what it is thus far: an empty threat designed to do exactly what they stated, which is to be seen as an "equal" to bring the US to face-to-face negotiations.

NK knows that if they fire a missile, they die. It would make the invasion of Iraq look like child's play. Every possible NK gov't. and/or military target would be hit. Simultaneously. And China will be in on it, though perhaps from behind the velvet curtain.

They know this.

I wouldn't take those threats too seriously. You're right in saying they are trying to act like equals to the US. One lousy nuclear test and it goes to their head (kind of like a 16 year old who's been going to the gym for a couple of months).

It's nothing new. North Korea has always been arrogant because they were the most developped half in the peninsula after the war. They simply haven't accepted the fact that the South became the richer half in the mid 70's. The South's wealth has also made it possible for the government to build up its military so that it far surpases the North's (South Korea has M-1 tanks, whereas the North still uses the old T-34s (think a tractor with a canon)).

Not from North Korea. They don't have any battleships.

Worse case scenario...if they sack Seoul and the surrounding area, they then have battleships and such.

Anyway, when I said battleships, it was pretty general. I am not familiar with warships.

Like I have said before in other threads. This looks like it is being staged by Iran, Venezuela and South Korea. China and Russia gain with the US's instability and are only playing the part.
