How much spending moeny is reaquired for the basiocs when going to Beijing...I'm going on a package tour with al the sightseeing costs and accomodation included in the ticket - but have no idea on the cost of the other types of spending on a trip like that...
e.g. food, drinks, transport,
anyone been on such a tour and what can you tell me?

food can be anything from 3 yuan a meal to 300 yuan (although most cheap restraunts will be about 30)
chinese beer from the market can be 2 yuan for 600mL, euro/yank beer from a club or bar in the touristy areas can be 50 yuan for 330mL or even more
busses are 1-2 yuan to pretty much anywhere, metro is 3 yuan to anywhere you'd want to be going (5 if you go on the other line which you prob wont) taxis are cheap, 30 yuan gets you one corner of the ring road to the other, make sure they use the meter though. taxi mafia at the airport can charge 10x this amount
US$1 = 7.8 yuan
so my point is you can spend as much or as little as you like depending on what you want to do |
