Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha

I guess I got somebody's goat.

Lousy English. Can't think of a darned thing that they're good for. Except as cannon fodder for Bush's wars, maybe.

Oh dear, another English phallacy.

You see north americans, this is what the English try to make us believe here in the UK. But it's a wee bit more complex than this uneducated numpty would have you believe. You see, even Westminster and Holyrood can't even come to an agreement on this.

You see, the main high earning companies in the UK are (among others) British Petrolium, better known as BP- and as of my last recollection, the main oil fields are where? you guessed it Scotland. Also another high earner is the Royal Bank of Scotland (one of the biggest and largest investors in europe). Not doing too badly.

Thats before I've figured in the revenues of bio-tech patents (remember dolly the arthritic sheep?), or whiskey sales worldwide, or indeed tourism.

We get alot of tourists coming over for the Edinburgh Festival, you see..

Cap in hand- ma' erse!

May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen!

Aaaah!

Makes you proud to feel British.

YET ANOTHER black-lynching, pro-capital punishment, 250-kilo Texan twit with a 'tude!

Drawling fatty, go to Itaewon and order a super-hyper-sized Mega-burger and wash it down with a pepsi that could quench the thirst of a Texan farming community....you foul glutton. Go home to San Antonio and go listen to some ZZ Top in an arena rock-loving t1tty bar full of mulleted corpse-rapers! I've always quite liked Texas, but judging by the Texan expats in Korea it's not difficult to see why Texas is regarded by the rest of the union as something of a chromosome-lacking cesspool of genetic mutations! I'm gonna make it my business to thoroughly hate TX from now on. Not that you'll know any different. Texas absolutely sucks! It's a nasty, horrible, polluted, socially-backward pit of pejorative, putrescent parasites!

Same old cliches from dumber-than-a-brick, bull-humping, flannel-shirt-wearing Red State human-eyesore I see. England is no-one's biatch. If anything, we're the "biatch" of the EU - since most of our trade is there. We weren't your b1tch in the 60s and 70s either when you were getting your asses thoroughly kicked by the North Vietnamese. Didn't lift a finger - probably why you lost, actually. You're getting trounced by a bunch of knife-waving Iraqis as well, even WITH our, South Korea's and Japan's help. Too many Texans in the military, you suspect. God knows there aren't too many other career options - flip burgers at Wendy's or scrub oil from your knuckles, or teach Koreans who can't understand your ridiculous accent! Laughing

A what? Shocked

Anyway, RBS and BP (the North Atlantic and North Sea are in Scotland are they? Dear) hardly constitutes proof of what you're trying to argue, Craig. Scotland is probably a good place to live, what with its free NHS prescriptions and free universities. Whether it'd be possible without a southern neighbour with 10-times your population we'll never know. Scotland and Wales enjoy a rather unequal relationship with England as far as I'm concerned. By itself, Scotland couldn't even colonize a small, unpopulated island. By sheer coincidence, you understand, the proudly independent Scotland becomes a willing participant in union with England in 1707, just as England is starting to colonize over 25% of the planet. I could go on, but it's far more fun to have a thread full of jingoistic insults than facts.

No, but Bp's oil rigs are in Scottish water.

Current events not your strong point, I take it.

And why would want to do that even if we could?

Quote:
Scotland becomes a willing participant

Even this is a contentious subject amongst Scottish historians themselves.

I'd like an independant Scotland, and I think we have the clout to make it, ergo, I'm Jacobite 'scum'?

Is this what passes as resoned thought these days.......

Scottish waters, good grief. Anyway, Scotland was a VERY willing participant in The Empire. Why? Profit. Profit changes everything (especially if you're a Scot). Laughing

ChopChaeJoe, sorry to hear that the infamous scene in 'Deliverance' is frankly speaking a documentary about your ubringing and family history. Obviously you weren't taught by your mother-sister that if you're from Texas, your opinion is of total worthlessness. Couldn't you have been from a nice Democrat state instead like one of the New England states or perhaps lovely Minnesota? In that case, we'd all be quite happy to award your views their due credence. As things stand however, kindly spare the rest of the inherently-superior-to-people-from-Texas world the unpleasantries of being soiled by your intellectual malfeasance! This planet would be a heck of a lot better if Texas and the rest of conservative America was totally destroyed. Now go and get a double-mega whoppa, buddy. It's your heritage - congratulations! Laughing
