Shocked I do hope you're not serious. I'll put American micro-brews up against the beer from any other country in the world.

Micro brews tend to be good anywhere. Both of you are way off confining it to one country.

Huh? When did I confine it to one country?

Dude, unless you have a very different version of English than me, the bolded part is saying American micro-brews are the best (confining the best micro-brews only to the US). You may have been thinking of something else when you typed that, ...

All I read was that American microbrews can compete on par with beers from everywhere else.
Not that that are the best in the world, just that they can compete...

When taken in context with what he was responding to, I think he was going more for "better". I can't obviously say you are wrong, as English can be taken differently as there are so many speakers from so many areas, but I disagree with you.

In my English "up against" means "as good as (if not better)" or "comparable to". As in "No, Canada does not have 'much better beer than we do'".

And in terms of quantity of good beers, I probably would put the US beer market over any other country's.

Fine for the English, some people take things differently. But with the context, I believed differently. But my first post would fit right in here again Smile

Rolling Eyes You think this means I'm confining good beer to one country? Rolling Eyes You're still having trouble seeing anything but black and white, I see.

You think there's a broader audience out there listening? You're wrong. No one's listening to this pathetic, little world nor caring about this obscure existence though 'you think' you're part of 'something' here. Fact is, if Canadian you're probably belittling Bush and bashing America just to get a rise, or if you're Kiwi you need a complaint to complete your confusion of being island-identity-less, and if you're American you're sweltering in steaming shamefacedness like something set you up to sink this low into the pit of pride or racial prejudice, and that for being something you nor they aren't or weren't.

Whatever that was or is, but wanting to put Bush down or America makes them who they are, if not Korean, therefore makng tthem pride themselves and pout on their pillow's of pride due to sanctions of self-identity without Dave's-dirty-diaper forum; Korea.

But who's listening?

I think you ought to realize that most Americans don't even give Korea a second thought, let alone 'you' being here. Of course now this board seems pro-Canadian to me, so maybe that's how you fit in. Or maybe intermarrying will help. Unless you're just trying to be European and are a relativistic, rear-enderer.

No, that is most definitely not me. Especially on this board. Please show examples of this. It shouldn't be that hard, I do post a lot.

But after reading it again, I realized you said quantity, and I had read quality. Lack of reading skills I guess Smile My bad Embarassed
I would still like you to back up that first bit though, as I am by far one of the few on here that do not see things in black and white, and that I will fight. I have problems, that is not one of them.

Great response. Exactly what I was thinking. The original post sounds like it was written under some influence.
