Does anyone know of any good Ghost Story websites? especially Korean ghost stories as i want to do a themed lesson with my class and i thought a good spooky tale that they would 'get' im sure western ones will work just as well but i want to learn something too Laughing

Before anyone asks, i have done some googling but it just sends me to a movie from 2004

Cheers in advance

There's one here:

Not quite a Korean story - but designed for elementary/middle school students in Taiwan. I like the concept of designing an online story in which you can create multiple options to follow - just like those Dungeons and whatsits stories. Perhaps you could make your own if you are web skilled.

There's also the story about the strange marks on the Korean money which I found very interesting - it was apparently well known by Korean adults when they were at school, but kids today are not familiar with it, so they get freaked out by it ... I'll try to find the story online.

When I first came here, all the students were telling me about "the Woman of Red Mask".

Apparently it was a girl who could run faster than a car, but had a horrible disfiguring plastic surgery to her face. She would come up to other women and ask if she was beautiful. If the woman lied and said yes, she sliced up the woman's face to look like her. If the woman told the truth and said no, she got killed for her trouble. And you couldn't run away because she could run faster.

Oh yeah, the botched plastic surgery took place in Japan...no hidden message there!

Anyway, I think you can find the legend of red mask online.

I did this with my middle school students last year as a story-copying lesson and it worked very well:

1.
It was a dark and stormy night. As Minji walked home from school she started to feel very afraid.
2.
A strange woman was waiting behind Uri Pizza. She leaped out, grabbed Minji, and started yelling at her.
3.
She was horribly ugly. She had a red, scarred face and was holding a big, sharp knife.
4.
"Hello, Minji," she said, laughing very loudly. "I am the Red Menace. I am visiting your town tonight. Do you think I'm pretty?"
5.
Minji wanted to run away, but the Red Menace shrieked "I can run 100 meters in 10 seconds, so don't even think of trying to run away! Ah ha ha ha!!!!"
6.
Minji didn't know what to say, so she lied. "I think you are very pretty", she said, terrified.
7.
The Red Menace said "you are lying, little girl! I kill pretty girls who lie to me! Do you want to die?!!!"
8.
Minji screamed "Help!!!!!" Then she woke up. She looked around her bedroom. It was all just a nightmare.

Yes, it's odd how English speaking people would find Korean names like Minji, Sukmi, Misuk, Cumsuk, and Bumsuk fun to use, isn't it?

Talk to some of your Korean co-workers...especially the women! They'll have a lot of them!! I know that there is one about a nurse...and one about a ghost sitting on a person's chest. Most Koreans DO believe in ghosts and say that they have seen one!
