I voted for LCI Kid's Club in Deungchon-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Inchon. You can use the search function, and ASTA/ LCI Kid's Club will pop up with several threads and numerous horror stories. Actually, I worked for YES Youngdo several years ago (Jeonja, Bundang), and my branch was alright- I just used it as a poll option because I can't name too many haggies off the top of my head ^~

P.S. If this poll has been done recently, sorry!

I tried to vote for all of them...but could not. Not that I have any experience at these schools....my experience is base on the amount of negative letters being posted on this site over the years.

One thing in common...all are owned by koreans....can't blame foreigners for that screw up.

So...when all these schools have problems with teachers from all over the world...it stands to reason that koreans are the problem.

You would have to have worked in all of them to give an objective vote.

I think I lived through just about every hagwon horror story in the book during the short time I worked at a Wonderland.

-Thrown into a classroom with no training and subsequently berated for not knowing what I was doing? Check.
-Given a textbook with nonsensical content and no teacher's guide? Check.
-Lied to about the age range of the kids I would be teaching? Check.
-Split shifts? Check.
-Asked to work unreasonable hours? Check.
-Korean partner teachers who can barely speak English? Check.

I voted for Kids Herald because I personally had a bad, bad experience with the one in Cheonan.

Great poll idea! Damn, I wish there was a way to vote for all of them, too. I cast my vote with Wonderland just because, in addition to all the specific horror stories I've heard and read, they are just so infamous. I can't believe they haven't tried changing their name yet.

If I had to rank them, based on what I've heard from so many people, it would be:

1. Wonderland
2. Ding Ding Dang
3. YBM-ECC
4. LCI Kids Club

I haven't actually worked for any of these schools. But, I voted for Wonderland due to the high number of people who have told me what a crap time they had working at a Wonderland school.

Minorthreat, excellent recap of Wonderland! In addition, the Wonderland I worked at had set lessons that the teacher was required to follow, but some of those lessons were simply a picture to be colored...for an hour. Others were actual lessons, but you never knew when you would turn a page and suddenly have to pull 59 minutes out of yer hiney. Oh, and tiny desks in the staff room...I had to put my books on the floor to use my desk to write lesson plans....

The Dang, no experience of the others, but avoid the Dang like the plague. In fact i'd choose the plague over this beep.

LCI Kid's Club.

Then again that's the only haggie I've worked for.

NEVER AGAIN!
