Howdy.
I am arrived! I've been in Mokpo about a week and I'm enjoying it so much! School's great, director and her family have been uber-great (seriously, they have gone out of their way to make everything easy, they even took me to E-mart for my first shopping trip) and the apartment is nicer than the one I left.
I've been sticking close to the apartment this week learning the neighborhood. I was thinking though that since it's Friday night I might journey out and have a beer. Anybody know a good bar in Mokpo? Nothing too rowdy or crowded, just a nice little bar...
I appreciate it. Thanks. |

| The New York bar (I think that's what it's called) in the new downtown isn't bad, and at least there should be a few other foreigners there for you to talk to. But I've been to Mokpo a few times, so I'm sure there are others out there with better ideas. |

Thanks for the suggestion.
If it's in Hadang I should be able to find it pretty easily.
I thought about just taking a taxi to Hadang and walking around till I found a bar... but now I'll look for this one.
I saw my first westerners last night... I've been here a week and I didn't see another foreign face until I went to E-mart. I didn't talk to them or anything but it was cool to see blonde hair that wasn't my own.
And then I had to let this 2 or 3 year old kid in line feel my hair. She thought it was pretty cool. And that made me happy. |

| The 2 main teacher bars in Hadang are Wa-Bar and P-Bar. I suggest P-Bar. It has a good atmosphere and free pol. It is located behind Megabox movie theatre beside an Italian restaurant. I believe the restaurant is called Grand Piatro. |

Thanks Dr.
I'm heading there in a couple of hours. Need to finish some prep/grading so I don't have to do it over the weekend. |
