Hi
Just wondering if anyone here checked out yongpyeongs slopes
Ive just bought a season pass and wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect. Being from the UK ive not been spoilt with slopes like whistler and aspen, so i reckon yongpyeong will be pretty awesome.
Went to Bears Town and Ganchon last year and although they were cool im hoping Yongpyeong is much better and bigger.
Also has anyone got an recommendations on cheap accomodation once you get down there. Heard you cant reserve beds unless you reserve the whole room so im a little worried that accom may be hard to find
Lastly, anyone know when the season will start?
thanks |

How much was a season pass? Are there discounts if you live in Gangwon-do?
A teacher at my school said Pheonix Park is better. Should you have done some research before buying a season pass?

The season pass is 610, 000 for the bus and ski lift, but that was for a discount rate so not sure what it will be now.
As for researching it, of course I did, yongpyeong is supposedly one of the best in asia and nearly got the winter olympics for 2010 but was beaten by Vancouver. So must be pretty decent, so should all be good, just wanted advice from people who knew what they were on about and who had been there before. |

It was Pyeongchang county as a whole. When they bid for an olypics they propose to build special things for the Olympics. Regular skiers just get the regular slopes. I've only been skiing twice and the second time was at Park City a couple of years before the Olympics. That doesn't mean the slopes were better than Winter Park.
You got a discount for buying early? I doubt there is a special bus for Daehwa. I would probably have to take the regular bus. Am I getting a worse deal for living closer? |
