I had a wonderful idea: instead of paying a lot of money on basil, oregano, dill, I was going to just bring seed packets and grow them on my windowsill!

Has anyone else manicured a tiny garden in their apt?

You should definitly bring seeds with you. (Hide them well from customs). I have four basil pots seeding now. You can get rosemary plants easily here. All the other stuff you should bring. Keep in mind it will take several months for your herbs to be ready to harvest. Better bring some backup dried stuff for the lag time.

Just be careful with the seeds. It is a criminal offence to import them without a license to do so.

(It is illegal to import unprocessed plant or animal products into the Republic of Korea without license or quarantine).

You can find them here (seeds that can germinate) to grow your herb garden but it means a bit of legwork.

Uh, I had my friend send some in te mail. I figured it was illegal, but what they don't know won't hurt them. Its not like Im importing GM corn or something. Plus, I keep it indoors where it can't mix outside.
