You CAN get a significant discount. I have probably spent the better part of a year in various love motels all over Korea, usually a few weeks at a time and if I knew I would be there for a while, I asked. |

When I first moved to Seoul me and a friend stayed in a hotel for just over 3 weeks at about 20 - 30 manwon per night (depending on weekday or weekend). As we were looking for work we weren't sure how long we would be staying, but as poet13 said, you can get discounts paying by the month. |

I know a guy who did it for six months in Busan.
Cost about W300,000 a month.
He made sure he never had to change room.
Only downside was having to listen to lots of banging from adjoining rooms.
Could be frustrating if you are single. |

Motels are nicer than "goshiwon" but I'd opt for the goshiwon I think, for internet access and a kitchen. Shared bathroom sometimes sucks though, and privacy is a bit less. Plus it is hard to have a guest in a tiny goshiwon room. |
