Looking to get out of Korea after being here for almost a year, what are your thoughts on going to Shanghai? We don't want to see sights really, they'd be nice, but we'd like to party and have some good fun. If no Shanghai, where else can anyone recommend that would be good times? Thanks

Ive heard Shanghai is great for shopping and partying. I was only there for 2 days so didnt get to do much of anything, but it was a beautiful city. Have you been to China? It was difficult for me to go there after living in Korea because, honestly, the people here seem a lot more friendlier, and there is a hell of a lot more english around! I never had culture shock in Korea, but I did in my short visit to China!!

That being said, I know a family who moved there and teach English at an International school - they absolutely love it. (But theyre older and arent exactly party-goers.)

Shanghai is for partying, business and shopping. Shanghai is nothing like the rest of China, the people there are unfriendly, underhanded, greedy and very dishonest (everyone I met in China in all the areas I went to said this, and I was ripped off enough there to agree). These are generalisations, but... You could live in SuZhou and travel to Shanghai. That's a bit better atleast.

dannylelievre, if you want to party get a job in South America. The one thing I don't like about China is that too many women are just after your dosh!!!

I just went for two days as well.. the Bund. Not much happening there at night when I was there.

Heard that Shanghai is really good for nightlife.. makes me curious what I missed.
