For those of you with satellite out here... how the heck did you get it?

SkyLife told my boyfriend and I that we need to: Buy the dish and the receiver, sign a 3 year contract, and have a credit card for billing.

I thought most bills you can pay at the bank? Sign a 3 year contract! Uhhh... I have no intentions of staying for 3 years.

What deal do you all have? I'm interested to hear if we're being messed with or if that's just how it is... Thanks Smile

Well...I think they have different payment options. Yes, there is a 3 year deal. It includes free installation, free equipment, and a decent monthly fee. If you don't sign up for 3 years, you have to pay for the dish, the box, and also installation (I believe.) In any case, it costs a lot more up front if you don't sign a long contract.

You might want to check the auction sites. We got a new dish and receiver (with a deal on the channel package) for 40 000won from there. A friend of mine got a second hand dish, but the local nitwits didn't want to install it (they wanted him to buy an identical dish and receiver, but new, from them). He called the company HQ to complain. Didn't take long for them to sort the matter out.

same here - just get the bill sent to your address and pay it at a bank. You don't need to do a 3 year contract either - just month to month

Is there a list of different dealers that you can go through, kinda like how cellphone services work? Or is it just the one number?

Haha.. sorry for all the questions

just tell me - you are married to a korean person right -

I am a foreigner - and they will not let me have skylife - unless I use a credit card....

so for all you people saying - I just got the bill and I will go pay it at the bank - are you foreigners - or koreans or gyopos or married to a korean person?

This is the private number of a guy at the service center, his name is Jun Roh and he speaks could engilsh
010-6734-2232
He might be able to help you out.
This is the number of Jin, he works in the hook up department of skylife,
017-558-2930
He might also be able to help you.
I told my boss I wanted Skylife and the install guy appeared the next day. I think she did the original hook up for me but the bill comes to me.
Also, my girlfriend, another waygook, and every other person, including many foriegners, in my building have skylife as our building is not wired for regualr cable. So, it is possible, I dont know how, but it is, maybe the numbers I have given you can help.
If you live in Sokcho I could take you to the actual skylife office, it is just down the road from my house.
