Why can't this stupid country manage to give us ID's that actually work for basic services. Internet banking should be easy for a person with a F5 visa (which I have). I agree that E2 people have no need for the services but F2, F4, and F5 people are here for a long haul and need actual service.
Is it so hard to give us ID's that are registered...$%^$%^$%^#^ |

It's a closed society dude. Koreans shun everything foreign. Why should they be nice to you and give you a proper I.D.? |

In the US they give foreigners tax ID numbers in place of social security numbers. |

Only for paying tax to Uncle Sam. They have no meaning outside of the IRS. |

Until recently, they could be used to register children for school. This is no longer acceptable, but may still be standard practice in some LEAs. |

I didn't mean that E2 people are less but they often have little need for the services I am talking about. I have car payments, mortgage payments, and a myriad of bills. I want to use services that Koreans use but I can't. I want to check the mortgage on a property before I rent it, but I need a korean to do it (example).
Hell...I can't register with Nexon to play kartrider without a korean to do it under their number (example). I have been here 7 years, own an apartment, and a car. I am a contributing member of this society but I am not represented and not allowed equality.
I have jumped through every hoop and dotted every line. I have followed the rules and regulations. I have the F5 visa....what more do I need to do. |

Accept the fact that while Korea is a cool place to live and has made major strides in the past quarter century of their glorious 5,000 year history, their xenophobic redneck past is still nipping at their heels and will not allow you to be considered a proper member of society here for another generation or so. |
