|
|
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Windows XP MUI CD that includes the Korean language files? I downloaded this off of a torrent site over a year ago, but I can't seem to find the disc now. If you don't know what it is, MUI stands for multilingual user interface. If you install an English version of Windows XP and then install the Korean MUI files you can switch the language of the computer back and forth between English and Korean. You can have multiple user accounts that default to different languages and things like that. It's extremely useful if you have computers that are being shared by speakers of different languages. I've been searching around and haven't been able to find it. Apparently Microsoft doesn't even sell this to regular people, but it's available to corporations and things like that. I'm not sure why they make this so difficult to get. Mac OS X has similar functions right out of the box without the need for any extra stuff.
So does anyone know where I might find this?
here's Microsoft's very unhelpful FAQ if anyone's interested...

Thanks for that. It's amazing how many torrent sites are out there these days. In case anyone else wants to download this you will notice that there are 5 CDs (and 32 languages) in this set. Korean is on the first disc. If you only want Korean you only need to download CD #1. |

I did the MUI once on my home computer...but for the life of me I can't remember the process. Just run the executable and see what happens. There's probably an installer called install.exe or setup.exe or mui.exe or something on your disk. |

LOL...yep, you burned it wrong. Google "how to burn an .iso" That will probably help. Good luck |

This sounds interesting. Right now I'm running dual boot Eng/Kr XP for myself and the wife, which is good because she can use Korean MSWord etc, and she can't play with my settings or ....well you know Korean sites and mal/spyware.
But I will try this...download when I get home....I spotted a DVD with all MUIs. I will make a standalone Kr. ISO.
I'd assume that if there's no .EXE then the disk must be bootable. |
